Our custom-fitted anti-snoring devices are clinically proven to reduce snoring and improve sleep quality — for you and your partner — without medication, surgery or CPAP machines.
A clinically effective, dentist-made solution for snoring
Snoring is caused by the partial obstruction of the airway during sleep. When the muscles in the throat relax, the soft tissues vibrate as air passes through — producing the familiar snoring sound. For many people, snoring has a significant impact on sleep quality, relationships and daytime wellbeing.
An anti-snore guard — also known as a mandibular advancement device (MAD) — is a small, custom-fitted oral appliance worn during sleep. It works by gently holding the lower jaw in a slightly forward position, which opens the airway and prevents the soft tissues from collapsing. The result is a clear, unobstructed airway and significantly reduced or eliminated snoring.
At Wickham Market Dental Practice, we provide professionally made, custom-fitted anti-snore guards that are far more effective, comfortable and durable than generic devices available in chemists or online. Your appliance is made from precise impressions of your own teeth for a secure, comfortable fit throughout the night.
Mandibular advancement devices have a strong clinical evidence base and are recommended by sleep specialists as a first-line treatment for mild to moderate snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA).
Made from precise impressions of your teeth, your device fits perfectly and securely throughout the night. This makes it far more comfortable and effective than generic one-size-fits-all devices.
Many patients notice a significant improvement in snoring from the very first night of wearing their device. Adjustment is built in to allow fine-tuning for optimal comfort and effectiveness.
Reduced snoring means better sleep quality for both you and your partner. Better sleep has significant benefits for your physical health, mental wellbeing, concentration and energy levels.
Unlike some snoring treatments, an anti-snore guard is entirely non-invasive, drug-free and requires no surgical procedures. Simply insert the device before sleep and remove it in the morning.
Our professional anti-snore guards are made from high-quality dental materials built to last. With proper care, your device should provide effective snoring relief for several years.

Book Free ConsultationWe guide you through every stage — from your first consultation to your final result.
We begin with a consultation to understand your snoring history, symptoms and any relevant medical background. We examine your teeth, jaw and bite to assess suitability for a mandibular advancement device and discuss the treatment options available.
Precise impressions of your upper and lower teeth are taken, along with a bite record in a slightly advanced jaw position. This data is used to fabricate your device in a dental laboratory to exact specifications.
Your custom anti-snore guard is manufactured in a specialist dental laboratory from high-quality, biocompatible materials. The device is designed to hold your lower jaw in the optimal forward position to open your airway during sleep.
We fit your device, check it sits securely and comfortably, and show you how to insert, remove and clean it. The device includes a titration (adjustment) mechanism allowing you to gradually advance the jaw position for the best balance of comfort and effectiveness.
We schedule a follow-up appointment after 2–4 weeks of wear to check progress, assess comfort and make any adjustments to the advancement position. Most patients find they need one or two adjustments to achieve optimal results.
Our custom anti-snore guards are professionally designed and fabricated for maximum effectiveness and comfort.

Answers to the questions our patients ask most often.
The device works by holding the lower jaw gently forward during sleep. This posture tightens the soft tissues and muscles of the upper airway, preventing them from collapsing and vibrating — which is what causes snoring. By keeping the airway open, airflow is smoother and quieter.

“Much better than the generic ones I'd tried from the chemist. Those were uncomfortable and fell out during the night. This one fits perfectly and I barely notice it's there. The snoring is dramatically reduced according to my partner.”
