NHS Treatment Bands

NHS dental charges are set by the government and are the same across all NHS dentists in England. You pay one band charge for a complete course of treatment.

Band 1

£26.80

Covers an examination, diagnosis, and advice. If necessary, it also includes X-rays, a scale and polish, and planning for further treatment.

Who Qualifies for Free NHS Dental Treatment?

Under 18 (or under 19 in full-time education)

Pregnant women or those who have had a baby in the last 12 months

Receiving Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance, or Pension Credit

Holding a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate

Named on a valid HC2 certificate (full help with health costs)

Inpatients at a hospital receiving treatment
